10:30 am–12:00 pm
The Chinatown Art Walk takes visitors through a century of Chinatown’s struggle to control its image and voice. Starting with the faux Chinese architecture of a century ago, participants can see evidence of the evolution of Chinatown’s empowerment, culminating in the current era of truly organic and innovative artistic expression. A particular highlight of the walk are viewings of public art created by collaborations of local residents and contemporary artists as part of the Chinese Culture Center’s initiative to bring art out of the museum and into the community.
